The Governor who spoke after the signing of the 2016 appropriation bill stated that his government has no intention to trample with the right of any citizen but warned that public places should not be turned to other purposes.
In his own words, he said “the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria has given the right to worship to every citizen including that of katsina”. But in doing so, he added that “we will not allowed such citizen to temper with the right of others.
He also stressed that his administration will not temper with anybody’s rights to worship but also will not compromised that with the security of the others.
It could be noted that Heavily armed security agents on Wednesday, halted a procession by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, in Katsina.
Daily Trust reports that members of the sect had
gathered at the Central Mosque area to begin the
procession at about 8am when armed security
personnel moved in to disperse them.
The security agents then moved in a convoy round the
main streets of the town. The foiled Sayyada Zahara Maulud procession is an annual event by the movement to commemorate the birth of the prophet’s daughter, Fatima.

Ibrahim Musa, said on noticing the number of soldiers
that surrounded the main Juma’at mosque where the
procession was to take off, the movement relocated
to prevent any confrontation.
