Katsina: Government Plans To End Fuel Scarcity



Katsina State Government has planned to check the current fuel scarcity in the state. The Permanent Secretary, Office of the SSG -Alhaji Rabi’u Audu Ruma stated this shortly after a meeting with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Katsina State Branch and other stakeholders in petroleum supply.


The Perm Sec stated that three (3) issues were discussed during the meeting which included:

(I) Shortage of fuel,

(II) Government commitment and

(III) Congestion in fuel stations across the state


The Perm Sec said recently the state governor Alh. Aminu Bello Masari appealed to the NNPC to give more emphasis to independent marketers.


Also speaking, the Katsina state IPMAN chairman Alhaji Abbas Hamza said the purchase fuel from the private deport at higher prices which according to him force them to sell the commodity above government official price.
