A chief magistrate court II sitting in Katsina has ordered that a Malumfashi based pastor, Onyeka Daniel be remanded in prison custody for allegedly abducting a 13-year-old school boy (names witheld).
Pastor Onyeka who resides in Malumfashi town at Malumfashi Local Goverment Area of Katsina state, was brought before the court for alleged “kidnapping or abducting in order to commit culpable homicide”.
According to the police First Information Report (FIR), the accused reportedly deceived and lured the teenager to his (accused) house forcing him(teenager) to leave school.
The pastor was alleged to have visited parents of the teenager where he demanded that he be given the child but the parents did not oblige his request.
The Prosecuting police officer, Abbas Hamza told the court that thereafter, the Pastor “deceieved and abducted” the child to an unknown destination.
He said the offence was contrary to section 274 of the Penal Code Law.
When the matter was mentioned at the court yesterday, the Presiding Judge, Abdu Ladan, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison and adjourned the case till 16th May, 2016. Source: Leadership News Paper
