Katsina State Gov’t Commits Over N2 Billion For The Rehabilitation of Ajiwa Water Works


Katsina State released about N2 billion for the rehabilitation of Ajiwa water works. The state commissioner for water resources -Alhaji Gambo Dandume stated this shortly after signing the contract of the project with the contracting firm in his office.

The Commissioner explained that apart from reviving the education sector, agriculture and strengthening security, the present administration is being committed towards providing portable drinking water to its populace in the state.

According to him water shortage has been the state’s biggest challenge and that the government attached much priority to it as a fulfilment of its campaign promises. The Commissioner also stated that the irrigation farming in the site will also be boosted by drilling boreholes and distributing water pumps to the farmers.
