As the world marks the 2016 children’s day, orphans and less privilege pupils in Katsina receives scholarship worth N2.5m from Zenith Bank PLC.
Speaking at the presentation of the cheques to the beneficiaries, Governor Aminu Bello Masari said the parents of the beneficiaries should ensure the effective utilisation of the funds. He also charged the bank and other organisations willing to help to accord priority to the girls-children when next they wanted to help.
He then thanked the management of the Zenith Bank for partnering with the state government towards achieving its restoration agenda in the education sector.
Earlier, the Katsina State Manager of the Zenith Bank -Aminu Abba Ali revealed that the beneficiaries where drawn from 10 public schools in 10 different local governments where each of the beneficiary got N250,000 only. Adding that the beneficiaries are mostly orphans and less privileged.
In the manager’s words, he said “this scholarship further proved the deep relationship that exists between the bank and the state government”.
