PROMISE FULFILLED! Katsina Gov’t revives Kankia metal works, handed it over to private firm
Katsina State government under the stewardship of its governor Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has formally handed over the Kankia metal works to a private firm called Ampri Global Limited owned by Indians.
Similarly, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also signed between the 2 parties there after.
Speaking at the occasion, Masari said all the ailing industries in the state will be resuscitated by his administration ‘soon’.
According to him, discussion had since been stated for the revival of Daura Leather works and Funtua red bricks.
He then requested for a framework for the next 6 months of the metal works from the firm.
The governor also stated that in due cause, the metal works will employ 400 people while also providing thousands of indirect jobs to the teaming youth of the state.
In his remark, the vice chairman of the firm that will take over the management of the metal works, Mr. Amir Fure said already the nail production has resumed in the company.
KATSINA POST can recall that last year the state commissioner for commerce and Industries promised that the state government will revive the Funtua Bricks and Kankia Metal works.
