Katsina State Gov’t introduces new indigenization certificate, to collect N1,000 for each
Katsina State government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari has introduced a sort of unified indegenization certificate in order to eradicate fake ones that are in circulation.
The commissioner for Local governments and chieftaincy affairs -Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmad Zakka made this known to the 34 directors administration and supply (DAS) during a meeting they held in his office.
During the meeting, the commissioner said that the state governor Alhaji Aminu Masari directed him to inform them on the dangers associated with the fake indigenization certificate in the state. He said, during recruitment exercise into particularly military and para military, many non-indegins that cut corners into getting the indegen use to short-change true indegens and therefore blocking them chances of getting recruited.
The commissioner also said: “The new unified indegen latter should only be given to those that bring forward their old one”.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Zakka therefore said government will give only one month ultimatum for everybody to get their new indegenization latter from their respective local governments.
However, it has also been revealed that 5000 copies of the new indegen latter will be given to each of the 34 local governments DAS of which they are expected to collect N1000 from residents when they issued each.
