From the look of things, the unending fight between the former katsina state governor Barr. Ibrahim Shema and the current on -Alh Aminu Masari has again taken another dimension.

This is so because, KATSINA POST can reliably gathered that the Katsina State PDP chairman Alhaji Yusuf Majigiri has issued a press release accusing the commission of enquiry constituted by Governor Masari to investigate Shema’s administration and also the commission’s chairman for many wrong doings including attacking his person during an open sitting in a matter he said ‘that does not concern him’ and also doing the Governor Masari who he called his ‘pay master’ bidding.

In the press release, the Katsina State PDP chairman said: “..at the Commission sitting on Wednesday 17th August, 2016, Justice Sirajo was angry with the katsina state PDP chairman, Hon Salisu Yusuf Majigiri for dragging him before the National Judicial Council for misconduct.  The chairman of the Commission in open sitting attacked the state PDP chairman and jetted that the PDP chairman is passing through problem at Port Harcourt as the court stopped the PDP convention. Sadly, this matter has nothing to do with the Commission of Inquiry.”

In the press release, the Majigiri also stated that the felt they could not get fair hearing in the commission because the Governor has already indicted the former Governor Shema severally with his utterance.

He then concluded by saying “We urge the members of the public to dis countenance the campaign of calumny against Shema and the officials of the immediate past administration, which has becomes Masari agenda to divert the people attention away from over #100 billion received in the last one year of  his administration without any achievement,  which has become source of agitation and concerns among the state populace.”

Bellow is the full press release:

PRESS RELEASE by PDP Chairman of Katsina state.

It is no longer a news that  katsina state Judicial Commission of Inquiry have been conducting media trial against former Governor of katsina state, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, members of his cabinet as well as his officials and local government chairmen who served under him, despite the pending court cases at the court of Appeal,  Federal High Court and the High Court of katsina state.  The Commission headed by a serving Judge of Plateau state judiciary ( Justice M I Sirajo) unfortunately ignored these cases by refusing to stop sitting, knowing fully well that all the cases involved pending applications for injunctions and stay of proceedings, and the Commission and its chairman were duly served with all the court processes.

Also, at the Commission sitting on Wednesday 17th August, 2016, Justice Sirajo was angry with the katsina state PDP chairman, Hon Salisu Yusuf Majigiri for dragging him before the National Judicial Council for misconduct.  The chairman of the Commission in open sitting attacked the state PDP chairman and jetted that the PDP chairman is passing through problem at Port Harcourt as the court stopped the PDP convention. Sadly, this matter has nothing to do with the Commission of Inquiry.

Apparently, Governor Masari who has already indicted former Governor Shema through his utterances in print and electronic media before and after his setting up the Commission of Inquiry is now using the media and the Commission to achieve his goal of witch hunting and discrediting Shema and the officials of his administration.

So far, the desperation exhibited by the Commission and the reckless statement of the Commission’s chairman has confirmed our initial observation that the Commission is meant to do an hatchet job for Masari,  and it is not meant to serve the cause of justice. Hence we decided to take our cases to court of competent jurisdiction in the country to seek for justice and fairness,  and give account of  our stewardship in line with the law of the land.

If it is in an environment where honour, integrity and public interest superceded self interest,  the Commission and its chairman in collaboration with their pay master, ought to feel embarrass with the conflicting figures coming out from Masari government officials, which has turned the whole sitting to a show of shame.

We urge the members of the public to dis countenance the campaign of calumny against Shema and the officials of the immediate past administration, which has becomes Masari agenda to divert the people attention away from over #100 billion received in the last one year of  his administration without any achievement,  which has become source of agitation and concerns among the state populace.

Signed

Hon. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri

Chairman. PDP, katsina state.?
