Jubilation as Katsina utd secure ‘Nigeria Premier League’ spot (Read how it all happened and commentaries)

 

In its continues effort to bring to our readers the latest and upto date news and other happenings in and around the state, KATSINA POST was at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium (formerly known as Karkanda stadium) to witness and subsequently report to our esteem readers what actually transpires in the game between Katsina utd and Kogi FC which ultimately leads to the clinching of the Nigeria Premier League spot by the host.

Prior to the match kick-off, we have reported that Katsina utd is on the verge of promotion to the league if and only if they win their match and Mighty Jet of Jos loses theirs -for Katsina united before the last game is trailing their Jos counterpart with a point. That’s what exactly happened!

Match commentary

The host team started the game in a spectacular passion threatening the visitors defense from all angle to the point of forcing the keeper into making two important saves.

Twenty seventh minutes (27th minutes) into the game, katsina united took the lead with a brilliantly goal from their midfielder Usman Bello that make the spectators out if their seat. The first half of the game ended 1-0 in favour of the hosts.

Also, the second half started very well for the hosts whom dominated majority of the game’s possession and also some couple of goal attempts.

On the other hand, the visitors finished the game with 10 men after one of  their midfielders Destiny received straight red card for reckless challenge to Usman Bello -the goal scorer. The game ended 1-0 in favour of katsina united.

The other Mighty Jets’ game

While in the other game between Jigawa united and Mighty Jets of Plateau ended 3-0 in favour of Jigawa united.

Katsina united now fished the group as leaders with 26 points while Mighty Jets of Plateau finished second with 24 points.
