Usman Bugaje, an ambassadorial nominee from Katsina state, has given a reason why he turned down President Muhammadu Buhari’s offer.
He has declined to speak to the media on his decision.
But on his Facebook page on Wednesday, the holder of PhD in Pharmacy thanked Buhari for the appointment, but he said he could not accept it because his hands were full.
“Regarding the published nomination for an ambassadorial posting, I have not spoken to the press and may not do so anytime soon,” he wrote.
“I thank those who think me fit for the job, but I have so much in my hands already, especially the Arewa Research and Development Project (ARDP), which is the only broad platform in the north driving development.
“I have weighed the options and have decided to remain home and continue the struggle for development and good governance.”
KATSINA POST noticed that not long after he made this post on his facebook wall, many other users of the platform started commenting, liking and sharing the post even as many others were expressing their opinions on his decisions.
Notably among them are ‘Muhammad Sani Jabo’ who said “This is real patriotism, I believed been an ambassador is more juicy than the directorship, but chosen to remain so as to assist his immediate community. This is great and commendable”. He concluded.
Another user by name ‘Musa Ibrahim Nababa’ simply said “May be you have future political ambition that is why u rejected the offer”.
Again, one ‘Ibn Sulaiman Najmuddien’ wrote “MashaAllah! I’m not disappointed. May Allah continue to aid our course.”
Notably also is one ‘Basiru Sabi’u Umar who wrote “Sir, we noticed that you’re among of Attiku boys and doing KAFAR ANGULU tactically to current government. We don’t need your presence during next coming gubernatorial elections, we Katsina people we will stand against any of your moves in any political party in Katsina state.
