The honorable commissioner of women affairs katsina State, Dr. Badiyya Hassan Mashi has cautioned women and youths in the state against consumption of hard drugs.
The honorable commissioner gave the task while receiving the award of excellence by the National Association of Nigerian Student (NANS) zone A in her office.
She also advised them to stop engaging in political violence and other social vices so as to become responsible citizens.
She said that drug abuse and other negative social vices had affected the education of many Nigerian youths and the society negatively.
The honorable commissioner reminded the women and youths that indulging in social vices was capable of destroying their future.
Dr. Badiyya Hassan Mashi also charged the youths to use their talent in fostering unity and peace for national development.
“First and most, I want to commend for the award given to me by our children in the NANS and I urge to be dedicated and committed to your duties for the overall development of the state and the country at large.”
“I wish to assured you that women affairs is more than ever ready to work hand in hand with who so ever is ready to move the nation, Katsina state and the country at large.”
“Governor Masari led-administration is ever committed to elimination of drug abuse as very soon we are going to launch a campaign against drug abuse which is our concern.” She added
She said: “It is worrisome that women in the state especially youths are involved in addiction which is unwelcomed in the state”
According to her, the ministry under her leadership will launch a campaign against drug abuse and violence against children which is now alarming in the state.
Earlier in his address to NANS president commended the honorable commissioner which he said she has impacted on the lives of women and youths as well as her eloquent development she brought to the state.
He said the recent activities of the Ministry of women affairs including the women empowerment programmes have direct impact on the citizenry stating that the commissioner has brought to bear her experience and expertise in the ministry.
In his vote of thanks, the permanent secretary of the ministry Alhaji Nasiru Bawale said the Award deserved stating that since the commissioner assumed office she has been instrumental to the development of the ministry.
