The PDP chairman in Katsina State Salisu Majigiri said it was regrettable that the APC could not handle only 4,000 pilgrims in the state without showing revealing its incompetence.
The chairman of the opposition party in the state was reacting to the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Muhammad Abu Rimi, who was reported to have put the blamed on PDP regarding the unfortunate protests by intending pilgrims over delay in the 4th flight of intending pilgrims from the state.
Alhaji Salisu Majigiri also added that this was among the many failures anticipated and people should expect more.
KATSINA POST learnt that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) distanced itself from the protest, saying that it was a clear sign of failure on the part of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Pilgrims on the 4th flight had alleged going through undue hardship of sleeping on the floor following the delay at the airport according to Dailytrust.
Speaking on the matter, Rimi said the opposition instigated the pilgrims by dishing out rumours to them. “They took to the social media to say so many unprintable and unnecessary things,” he said.
About 237 officials are accompanying the 4,930 state pilgrims. Already 2,086 have been airlifted with the fifth flight scheduled for today.
