Men of Katsina State Police Command, yesterday, has successfully shot dead one robber in a shootout with an eight-man gang of robbers.
This came as the Command also said it had arrested a man named Raba, who was parading himself as a soldier in the state.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development, said the robber met his Waterloo, when “today (yesterday), at about 2a.m., robbers, numbering about eight, came out from Dajin Mari Forest, Dandume, Katsina State, and invaded the village of Tumburkai, Dandume, shooting sporadically, trying to get access to the house of one Alhaji Sufiyanu.”
In a related development, Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has called on non-indigenes in the state to focus on their legitimate endeavours, assuring them that they have no cause to fear for their safety.

The governor, who spoke in reaction to the heightened tension between the Nigerian military and the IPOB in the South Eastern part of the country, said Katsina State is safe for every resident regardless of their relgious, ethnic and regional background.
