Katsina: After sleeping for 2 days at airport, 7th flight departs with 510 pilgrims to Saudi

The 7th flight of Katsina state intending pilgrims have departed the Umaru Musa Yar’adua international airport with 510 pilgrims on Monday. This brings to 3,546 out of the state 4930 pilgrims expected to be airlifted for this year’s Hajj. The pilgrims who were mostly from Daura, Kankia, Funtua , Kafur and most of those who had earlier missed their flights. They left 8am Monday morning. According to Daily Trust, this last batch of the pilgrims slept for about 2 days at the airport before their eventual airlift.

The Chief Imam of the Katsina state owned Al-Qalam University, Sheikh Abubakar Maikano, has called on civil servants in Katsina to reject the usury loans secured for them by the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC). The wife of Katsina state governor, Hajiya Zakiya Masari, has donated sickle-cells drugs to the Daura general Hospital. Zakiya, who, presented the drugs to the medical director of the hospital, Dr Muhammad Nafiu in Daura on Wednesday, said the drugs were mainly for patients suffering from the skill-cell anemia disease.
